December indicated the return of the annual football fashion show (Red Carpet Night). It was hosted in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) as a fundraiser to support the team. Family and friends of the players were encouraged to come watch the players to support the team as well as participate in a gift raffle during intermission.
Freshman and Sophomores on the team are required to put on a skit on stage. Watching the team dance on stage is typically comical, as the players only have a day to rehearse in addition to the purposely foolish skits. This year, the freshman did a swim routine which consisted of diving across the stage and pretending to swim. The sophomores, on the other hand, swapped with the cheerleaders and did a cheer routine. These skits were mostly choreographed by the team moms who were ecstatic to see the team dance on stage.
More elegantly, the juniors and the seniors walked the red carpet in formal attire. Juniors and Seniors were paired up with a cheerleader and walked down the carpet to the front of the stage to show off their outfits. Unlike juniors, seniors walk in suits which are supplied by the sponsor of the event.
Overall, if you have a friend or a family member who is on the football team, then I would recommend going to see the performance.
