Having Justin Bieber on the song really helped boost its popularity, since 7 of his previous songs have reached the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100. “Stay” can be appreciated by anyone who enjoys synth-pop, hip pop, or pop rock. “Stay” remained at the number 2 spot from last week.

“Industry Baby” is the third single off of Lil Nas X’s new album, “Montero.” Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow are both relatively new artists. Lil Nas X achieved fame in 2019 with his debut hit, “Old Town Road,” which peaked at number one for 19 consecutive weeks. Harlow became known in the music industry with his 2020 hit, “What’s Poppin’,” which peaked at number two. Both artists rose to fame with the social media app, TikTok, which is geared towards people in the younger generation. “Industry Baby” can be enjoyed by those who like pop rap music. “Industry Baby” remained at the number 3 position from last week.

4: Fancy Like- Pk. 3

Artist: Walker Hayes

Sales: 15.0k

Streams: 17.2m

Airplay: 56.9m

“Fancy Like” is the debut single off of Walker Hayes’ EP, “Country Stuff.” “Fancy Like” is the first song by Hayes to peak in the top 40 in the US, despite him being over 40 years old. However, this specific song gained recognition by the growing country music fan base, many of which consist of teenagers and young adults. Although the sales, streaming, and airplay are very high, it still cannot compete with other modern day artists, such as Adele. This song will appeal to those who enjoy country pop or country rap.  “Fancy Like” remained at the number 4 position from last week.

5: Bad Habits- Pk. 2

Artist: Ed Sheeran

Sales: 6.9k

Streams: 12.2m

Airplay: 73.7m

“Bad Habits” is the debut single off of Ed Sheeran’s new album, “=.” Released on June 25, “Bad Habits” has evolved from a summer hit to a fall hit, indicating its longevity in popularity. Sheeran is also no stranger to success, with his biggest hit, “Shape Of You,” peaking at number one for 12 non-consecutive weeks. Sheeran’s success has spanned for over a decade now, and it doesn’t seem to end anytime soon. “Bad Habits” will appeal to those who enjoy dance pop or synth pop music. “Bad Habits” remained at the number 5 position from last week.

6: Way 2 Sexy- Pk. 1

Artist: Drake (Feat. Future & Young Thug)

Sales: 2.8k

Streams: 16.8m

Airplay: 43.7m

“Way 2 Sexy” is the debut single off of Drake’s album, “Certified Lover Boy.” Like Adele and Sheeran, Drake has been in the music industry for quite a while, so he has established his success over time. With his previous hits like “One Dance” and “God’s Plan” dominating 2016 and 2018 respectively, as well as the viral TikTok trend for his song, “In My Feelings,” it’s no doubt that he would come back just as successfully. However, Drake’s more recent songs have been debuting high on the charts, but quickly falling in the ranks. This means that his recent songs struggle to remain relevant for a long period of time. “Way 2 Sexy” is the perfect song for those who enjoy trap music. “Way 2 Sexy” remained at the number 6 position from last week.

7: Shivers- Pk. 7

Artist: Ed Sheeran

Sales: 10.1k

Streams: 12.9m

Airplay: 40.1m

“Shivers” is the second single off of Sheeran’s new album,“=.” Sheeran is unique in this case because he is currently the only artist with more than one song in the top 10. “Shivers” has enormous potential to join the top 5 along with Lil Nas X and Adele following Sheeran’s track record in the Billboard Hot 100. Radio stations will also start to switch out “Bad Habits” for newer songs, so that song will soon fall in the ranks, leaving “Shivers” to rise. If streaming and airplay increased, then he could be a potential candidate for the next number one spot. “Shivers” will appeal to those who listen to dance-pop music. “Shivers” ascended 2 spots from last week, originally ranking at number 9.

8: Good 4 U- Pk. 1

Artist: Olivia Rodrigo

Sales: 2.2k

Streams: 10.6m

Airplay: 61.6m

“Good 4 U” is the third single off of Olivia Rodrigo’s album, “Sour.” Before 2021, Rodrigo was relatively unknown in the music industry. She was in “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” “Bizaardvark,” and various other tv shows and movies. She was mostly known for her acting. The release of her debut single, “Drivers License,” completely impacted the music industry. It peaked at number one for eight consecutive weeks. “Good 4 U” continued her success on the charts beginning last May, and it remained in the top 5 for the entirety of summer. However, it’s beginning to be eclipsed by newer songs and may decline in popularity in the coming weeks. “Good 4 U” is a mix of various genres, such as: rock, teen pop, and grunge. “Good 4 U” descended one spot from last week, originally ranking at number 7.

9: Need To Know- Pk. 9

Artist: Doja Cat

Sales: 2.6k

Streams: 13.2m

Airplay: 44.1m

“Need To Know” is the third single off of Doja Cat’s album, “Planet Her.” Doja Cat, much like Lil Nas X, is a fairly new artist. She gained recognition in early 2020 with her breakout hit: “Say So.” Also like Lil Nas X, she gained fame and recognition through TikTok. It’s no surprise that Doja Cat is achieving so much success in the charts right now since she just hosted The VMAs a couple of months ago. The only question remaining is if “Need To Know” will peak higher than her previous hit, “Kiss Me More” (which peaked at number 3) or “Say So” (which peaked at number 1). “Need To Know” is made for people who enjoy contemporary music. “Need To Know” ascended two spots from last week, originally ranking at number 11.

10: Levitating- Pk. 2

Artist: Dua Lipa

Sales: 3.2k

Streams: 10.3m

Airplay: 53.1m

“Levitating” is the 5th single released from Dua Lipa’s album, “Future Nostalgia.” Released in October of last year, “Levitating” is currently the oldest song to be in the top 10. When “Levitating” entered the top 10 back in January, nobody expected it to become as successful as it is today. However, once Dua Lipa performed at The Grammy’s last spring, she suddenly became much more powerful on the charts. Dua Lipa originally became famous for her 2017 song, “New Rules,” which peaked at number 6. Since then, she has released various songs, such as “Don’t Start Now” and “Break My Heart” that circulated the radio stations and streaming platforms in 2020. “Levitating” is for audiences who enjoy electro-disco music. “Levitating” descended two spots from last week, originally ranking at number 8.
