The Cherokee Food Pantry has been in existence since 2011 and is located in our school’s “D Circle.” It helps to provide all sorts of goods to students at Cherokee High School, including non-perishable food items, paper products, and toiletries. Headed by the Cherokee Counseling Center, students whose families could use extra support are allowed to stop in and bring home quick meals & supplies. Donations are always appreciated!
Cherokee’s Interact Club is taking an initiative to raise food donations to restock the Food Pantry, as it is running low. As we get closer to this holiday season, these donations become more important, as winter break can be a tough time for families. Below are details on their food drive.
Why should you help?
These items are being donated to families in need right here at Cherokee. Your donations will make a HUGE difference in the lives of your classmates and members of the Marlton community. It’s the holiday season; do what you can to help someone in need.
What can you donate?
- Non-perishable food items (canned food, pasta, peanut butter, boxed food, jarred food, etc.)
- Paper Products (paper towels, napkins, tissues, toilet paper, plates, etc.)
- Grocery Store Gift Cards (ShopRite, Walmart, and Target)
- Toiletries (Soap, Shampoo/Conditioner, Body Wash, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, etc.)
Where can you donate?
- Please drop off your donation to Mr. Scannell in GG112, or to participating teachers.
While donations are of course accepted all year long, the deadline for Interact’s Food Drive is this upcoming Monday, December 16.
Get on out there and support our school community by donating what you can. Rummage through those pantries, hit the grocery store, and head on over to Cherokee High School. Let’s make someone’s day even brighter!
