Roblox is an online gaming platform with a variety of games, which players can enjoy without limit. It has been a national success, and many from our generation have grown up playing it. If you haven’t – then where have you been?
The most popular and notable games were “Adopt Me” and “Royal High.” “Adopt Me” averaged 160,000 concurrent players in its peak, with “Royal High” not far behind. Recently though, “Dress to Impress” has been off the charts, and these other games have been left in the dust.
As of 2024, these games have (almost) fallen off the radar, even though they appear to have a dedicated following. Fans are left playing in the past, and it seems like they don’t get the memo. “Adopt Me” is boring now, haven’t you heard? What is the fun in raising non-existent pets, trading and getting scammed, or over-priced items? And what about “Royal High?” Fans have said that the amount of glitches make it unplayable, that diamonds are disappearing, and players are leaving.
It is safe to say that the games have changed, and many are upset. Fans take out their gloom on TikTok, Instagram, or even Reddit. Comments on these platforms suggest the nostalgia players have for these games. Things just aren’t the same anymore, so there is no point in playing. The generation who grew up with them has moved on, and the games don’t come with.
And so, these combating factors create one thing: change. The change of the past, and of the future, all creating the timeline of Roblox history. “Adopt Me” and “Royal High’s” era will be missed, but it’s “Dress to Impress’s” time now. Our only question is, how long will they last?
