Ariana Grande is one of the most renowned pop artists in history and reigned as queen throughout the 2010s. By 2020, the acclaimed album “Positions” had garnered so much attention a deluxe album with more music followed, even amid the Covid-19 virus outbreak and quarantine. In fact, Grande even used her producing skills to release a single amid the outbreak. The single titled “Stuck With U” featured verses from critically acclaimed singer Justin Bieber, known for his songs “Baby,” “Sorry,” and “Peaches.” The corresponding music video took a montage of videos sent in by fans as they danced and enjoyed the new music. This success left fans wanting more, and though Grande released other singles with huge names like The Weeknd and Demi Lovato, the release of her next album, dubbed AG7 (Ariana Grande 7) has been greatly anticipated.
Despite her huge success, even during a pandemic, the triple threat surprised us all by entering the business world and releasing a makeup and skincare brand named R.E.M. Beauty, which shares a name with the track from her “Sweetener” album. The brand boasts an Instagram following of millions, and her shimmery eyeshadows and highlighted bronzers create a brand-new effect in the makeup game. The Grammy-winning singer had been busy entering back into the music scene in a different way as well. Her guest judging season on the talent show “The Voice” is by far one of the most memorable seasons. Grande featured the members of Team Ariana on her Instagram heavily while the season ran, and is still good friends with her protegés. Her Instagram also features snippets of her time on the “Wicked” movie set, which is set to release in November of 2024 (according to the trailer, newly dropped as part of the lineup of Super Bowl LVIII commercials) and features Grande in the role of Glinda. Her castmates have also been heavily featured, and among them are many cameos from Cynthia Erivo, starring alongside Grande as the second protagonist, Elphaba. Grande’s musical talents expand well past her own studio time, yet fans were still eagerly anticipating Ariana Grande’s 7th studio album, dubbed “AG7” by fans.
In January of 2024, at the dawn of a new year and a new red lipstick R.E.M. Beauty release, Grande blessed her fans with her single “yes, and?” Within a day of the single dropping, Grande acquired her throne once more on the #1 spot on Spotify’s hit list, and according to Billboard, the single rocketed to “No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the pop superstar’s eighth career leader on the chart.” The singer’s social media was ravaged with excited fans, and Grande used her success to finally launch the release date of AG7. A post on Instagram of the singer donning red gloves and a slicked-back blonde ponytail (a throwback to her high ponytail 2010s era) finally cemented the existence of her 7th studio album named “Eternal Sunshine.” According to her caption, the album’s release date is set to be March 28, 2024. As a fan myself, I am eager to consume all things Ariana Grande, and see what’s in store for her new 2024 era, and beyond.
