E101 is going to be full of musical cheer on Dec. 18 during lunch and learn. The Ukulele Club is hosting a holiday party for anyone who wants to attend, whether they have a ukulele or not.
“As our first meeting this school year,” said Maris Worthy (‘24), one of the club’s student leaders, “the Ukulele Club Party has a lot to hold for both newcomers and club veterans, and trust us, it will be worth it! There will be a variety of activities, such as ukulele playing (of course), holiday music, plenty of time to socialize with friends and new acquaintances, and snacks to enjoy while doing so! Whether you have a ukulele or not, the event is a time to just sit back, relax to some nice holiday tunes, and unwind right before the wondrous winter break. And if you like it enough, there will be a sign up sheet to join the club and become a member of our Ukulele club community!”
Over the years, Ukulele Club has created a very fun environment for the people who choose to join. Not only will attendees for this meeting learn how to play music on the ukulele, but they will also have snacks that are provided by the club! This will serve as an introduction for people at any stage of learning to play the ukulele.
“If you choose to join the club,” Worthy said, “you can expect the future club meetings to occur frequently, being run by 1 of our 5 student leaders. There will be an optional group song that you can choose to participate in and play on a ukulele, and if that doesn’t interest you, feel free to just sit back and listen to the music, talk with your friends, or work on some homework! Ukulele is open to ALL students that want to join, whether they want to play, learn, or just listen. I can speak for all the student leaders when I say we’re all extremely excited for the rest of this school year!”
The club is run by Mrs. Fourney and Mr. Mehigan. The Google Classroom Code is 2a5de3n.
