Over the past several months, American rapper Kanye West (also known as Ye) has been stirring up copious amounts of internet drama. Whether it be through his breakup with Kim Kardashian, his harassment of Pete Davidson, or his loss of contracts, West has not ceased to brew controversies in recent times. However, arguably the worst of West’s actions has just taken place last month.

On December 1, West made an appearance on the InfoWars show, which is a far-right broadcast run by Alex Jones. Jones is notorious for his conspiracy theories, one of which is that the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary was a hoax. These details about Jones make his disagreements with West on the show especially serious.

West, completely masked as a personal choice to highlight his identity in entertainment, told Jones, “I like Hitler.”

He then went on to claim, “I love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis,” this after Kanye previously stated he loved everybody no matter who they were.

Jones replied, amidst his laughter, “Well, I have to disagree with that.”

The media’s reaction to this was not pretty in the slightest. West ended up having his Twitter account suspended for the second time by the platform’s current owner, Elon Musk. The first time he was suspended, he had made antisemitic comments, but most recently, West posted an image of a swastika inside of a Star of David, which led to his second suspension.

Musk claimed that he “wanted to punch” West upon viewing his tweet.

West is undoubtedly in need of help. Over the past few months, his mental state has been deteriorating and dragging him into dark places. Millions of his fans worldwide can only hope that he receives the support he needs.
